Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Key job responsibilities
The Kuiper Business Ops Manager is responsible for all activities related to ASIC supply chain strategy, from cost management/negotiation to supply continuity, including day-to-day communication and management of the strategic suppliers and their manufacturing house globally. They ensure that their commodities meet the product, quality, delivery, and price specification required. The Business Ops Manager role works cross functionally with ASIC NPI team, HW engineering, quality, legal, and planning to create end-to-end global component sourcing execution and supply chain strategies.
Specifically, in this Sr. Business Ops Manager role you will:
• Manage and owns supply chain strategy of all stages of program lifecycle
• Work with a range of stakeholders including business leaders, engineering leaders, legal, program management, and supply chain to negotiate a variety of agreements and contracts including term sheets, MOUs, NDAs, SOWs, development agreements, component purchase agreements and others
• Incorporate technical requirements into business transactions and effectively structure, facilitate, and manage the life cycles of product to support hardware, manufacturing or platform solutions.
• Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify opportunities to reduce cost, minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and exploit industry developments that benefit Amazon’s customers
• Develop cross-functional strategy to execute complex business deals that require technical understanding and long-term impact in semiconductor operations.
• Use industry and relevant data analysis, create and execute strategic sourcing plans for a technology, business unit, department, or project to help internal customers meet their goals
• Prioritize projects and activities to deliver maximum cost reductions and reliable supply
• Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals
• Drive financial modeling of large and complex deals
• Evaluate and monitor financial health of critical suppliers
• Effectively lead cross-functional meetings with clear document writing, agenda creation, note capture and follow-up activity coordination
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related technical or quantitative field- 4+ years of experience in sourcing or related disciplines specific to Foundry, Semiconductor Final Assembly, Testing, and Packing business with CM/JDM/ODM/OSAT in high technology industry
- 4+ years of direct experience in technology procurement, commodity management, contract negotiation, category sourcing or related supply chain experience
Extended Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering, or related field and 7+ years experience in engineering, sourcing, supply chain, and operations.- Technical acumen in Foundry and Semiconductor packaging, final assembly, and manufacturing test with ability to connect to related business matters such as cost, manufacturing cycle time and yields.
- Experience in supplier evaluation/selection, should-cost models, negotiate MVA, NRE, and CAPEX to ensure best-in-class cost for our products
- Experience with bill of material configuration management for consumer electronics, semiconductor, and final assembly
- High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems that may not have one clear answer
- Experience leading agreement negotiations for complex, mission critical technology supplier deals

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
