Description
The Sr. Business Operations Leader will serve as a trusted advisor to the Strategy, Operations, and Centers of Excellence (SOCOE) Leadership Team. They will manage a small team of 4-6 Business Operations Managers. They will think holistically and strategically about business processes, organizational communication, key operational rhythms, business planning, and change management. They will provide thought leadership and planning discipline, enabling the right strategic decisions and helping rapid business execution. They will bring a unique balance of leadership, strategic thinking, cross-group collaboration, influence, and communication skills. Equally important, Sr. Business Operations Leader will know how to “just get things done”.Key job responsibilities
- Contribute to the overall change management strategy including clarifying potential opportunities for improvement, defining analysis, leading data collection, assessing findings and synthesizing learnings.
- Work with global project owners, corporate functions, and sales teams to ensure transformational initiatives are implemented successfully
- Regularly communicate project updates to stakeholders and senior leadership
- Develop key metrics to evaluate the change management process (e.g., manager feedback, connection scores, synergies) and create a reporting dashboard that can be circulated to an executive audience
- Rhythm of the Business Management: Design and manage the rhythm of meetings that enable WWFE to run the business. This will include providing crisp Weekly Business Reviews (WBR) updates and writing Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) independently. Ensure preparation and clear agendas that address top issues. Track decisions and actions to completion. Help the business run smoothly and effectively.
- Business analysis and planning: Manage the annual business planning cycle for strategic and financial planning. Develop reports and analysis to update leadership on business health and track variance to plan. Develop plans to correct for errors.
- Business Management: Budgeting and Headcount management
- Business Operational Excellence: 1/Maintain digital Wiki presence with consistent branding and templates, 2/Simplify internal business cadences, processes, and internal portal (for goals, self-service toolkits, and docs), 3/Build SOPs and Templates (Best Practices), and 4/Automate operational processes (e.g., using Smartsheet).
- WWFE Culture & Engagement: 1/Enable career growth opportunities within WWFE, 2/Improve communication, transparency, engagement, and recognition across the org, and 3/Lead the “WWFE Culture & Engagement” team across the globe to focus on cultivating engagement across WWFE by creating a culture where builders feel inspired to be their authentic selves.

About Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field- 7+ years of experience in a strategy consulting, business planning, business management and/ or chief of staff role
- 7+ years demonstrated experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- 5+ years of managerial experience
Extended Qualifications
- MBA- Consulting experience in a top global consulting firm (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Accenture, Deloitte) and/or Enablement and readiness specific expertise
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities; ability to deliver fact-based insights to drive business decisions
- Strong attention to detail; excellent ability to identify and track key decisions
- Strong cross-group collaboration skills and ability to drive coordination across all levels and stakeholders. Very strong emotional intelligence and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven experience managing tight and demanding schedules
- Ability to influence across functional teams (e.g. sales, operations) and at senior leadership/executive levels
- Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments
- Enterprise software/ hardware industry expertise

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $132,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $219,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
