Description

Do you want to be part of an innovative and highly collaborative environment? Are you looking for a role with ownership and the ability to work across many teams in one of the fastest growing organizations? Our AWS Managed Services Team is looking for a highly qualified and highly motivated Business Intelligence Engineer.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of navigating successfully through ambiguity, gathering business requirements and creating BI and analytics solutions that have measurable customer impact, and demonstrating exemplary written and verbal communication skills. The candidate will have to set the right vision, strategy and roadmap and work alongside with stakeholders in the organization to make it happen. The candidate knows and loves working with business intelligence tools, can model multidimensional datasets, and can partner effectively with business leaders to answer key business questions. The candidate will need to be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and be able to lead a team to innovate and think big, while diving deep to meet our bar for quality and accuracy.

Key job responsibilities

- Design, implement and operate large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data solutions.

- Gather ambiguous, often conflicting, business requirements and translate them into robust, flexible, scalable visualization/analytical solutions that drive business decisions, growth and success.

- Lead voice/example in the areas of data architecture/modeling, statistical analysis, coding best practices and technical documentation.

- Take lead role in understanding and defining which metrics drive business success towards goal.

- Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc. that will support the needs of the business.

- Automate and optimize everything you touch: team processes, data pipelines, analytics solutions, self-service data models.

- Play integral role in constructing team's roadmap, setting expectations with (often competing) stakeholders and communicating team narrative to leaders.

- Maintain a high ethical bar for analytical independence; let the data speak for itself and not be influenced by the requestor.

- When disaster strikes, you take a lead role in understanding the problem, designing the solution and deploying the fix - quickly.

- Design, implement and operate large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data structures for analytics and data science.

- Create and propose technical design documentation, which includes current and future ETL functionality, database objects affected, specifications, and flows and diagrams to detail the proposed implementation

- Become a subject matter expert in database best practices and be able to produce ad-hoc analysis quickly
