Description
Are you passionate about turning complex data into actionable insights that shape how millions of customers experience delivery? As a Business Intelligence Engineer on the Global Transportation Services (GTS) team, you will support data analytics and reporting solutions for the North American Transportation business.Working with guidance from senior BIEs and your manager, you will help build analytical solutions that drive decision-making across the team. You will contribute to data engineering and analytics efforts, help resolve data quality issues, and maintain reporting infrastructure that provides value to internal and external customers.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data solutions, pipelines, and analytics using established patterns and frameworks
- Write and optimize SQL queries and Python scripts using AWS technologies to support data processing jobs
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to support translating business needs into data-driven insights
- Conduct analyses to support operational decision-making, escalating complex findings to senior team members
- Maintain and improve reporting infrastructure and documentation with guidance from senior engineers
A day in the life
You will start your day reviewing data pipeline health and flagging any upstream issues that could affect reporting. From there, you may join a working session with your team or operations partners to understand a new analytics request, then spend focused time writing SQL queries or supporting Python-based analyses. You will collaborate with senior BIEs and engineers across the transportation network, and share your findings with your manager and team leads. You will balance hands-on technical work with learning opportunities across the organization.

We partner across multiple organizations to forecast, improve, and educate leadership on the delivery speed customers experience. This is a collaborative team environment where you will receive mentorship and grow your technical and analytical skills.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience- Experience with one or more analytics visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI)
- Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related quantitative field
Extended Qualifications
- Master's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related quantitative field- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with statistical methods like t-test or Chi-square
- Experience with AWS Tools and Technologies (Redshift, S3, EC2)
- Knowledge of version control systems, eg., Perforce, Git
- Experience in transportation or supply chain

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
