Members of the Stores Security team are guardians of that trust. From drones to grocery stores and everything in between, our mission is to assess risk, classify data and systems, detect potential intrusion, and respond quickly to security events across Amazon’s critical business functions, including Retail, Customer Service, Worldwide Operations, Consumer Payments, Physical Stores, and Healthcare. Within Stores Security, the Vulnerability Management and Remediation Operations (VMR Operations) organization is responsible for all aspects of the Vulnerability Management lifecycle across Amazon including intake, assessment, discovery, and remediation.The VMR Operations organization is looking for a passionate, insightful, and results-oriented Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to help manage our ever-growing datasets across VMR Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for building insights and driving strategic business decisions through data. You will design and implement data-driven solutions to business problems related to vulnerability management tools and processes. You will harmonize data from disparate locations and partner with security engineers and leaders to bring clarity to priorities and risk. Finally, you will be challenged with proactive analysis of large datasets to uncover key insights as you learn about and integrate critical systems across Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
• Provides robust BI solutions for complex problems, that are extensible and scalable.
• Understand high-level business objectives and continually align work with those objectives to meet needs of business
• Refine data strategies that cut across functional teams and make technical trade-off decisions for long term/short-term needs.
• Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon's data resources and know how, when, which to use, and which not to use
• Serve as liaison between the business and engineering team to achieve the goal of providing actionable insights into current business performance, and ad-hoc investigations to support future improvements or innovations.
• Write high quality code to retrieve and analyze data and build data visualizations to tell the story of business trends, patterns, and outliers through rich visualizations.

Qualifications
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
Extended Qualifications
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
