Description
We are hiring a Business Intelligence Engineer, Community Engagement. This role will develop and manage data and analytics tools related to community giving, work closely with stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of their needs, and guide them to the best possible analytical and technological solutions.This role will support the data management and analysis of Amazon’s hyperlocal, charitable investment portfolio. The role will streamline new and existing data sources to measure Amazon’s impact in local communities and produce meaningful and easily digestible insights for senior leaders. The role will establish mechanisms, including a giving knowledge bank, and report library, as well as build dashboards for stakeholders to search for simple or repeat requests.
The right candidate will have demonstrated experience delivering business intelligence and analytics solutions for non-technical end users, working directly with stakeholders to gather business requirements, and translating those requirements into insightful and effective reports. They will also be a strategic thinker who understands the trade-offs between different analytical and technological solutions and can effectively communicate those trade-offs to technical or non-technical decision makers. The right candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity or imperfect data and can still innovate and think big, while diving deep to raise the bar for quality and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- An ability and desire to travel is required.
Extended Qualifications
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Master's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
- Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
