Description
This role will help to manage Zappos’s business of selling on Amazon Marketplace, including day-to-day business evaluation, creating and simplifying reporting through automation, data visualization, forecasting and building financial plans, identifying and socializing opportunities for growth. This role will own development of long-term automation solutions to improve Marketplace workflow, while also creating short-term tools and reporting to support the evolving needs of the business.Key job responsibilities
Zappos Marketplace BIE responsibilities Include:
* Analyze and solve business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.
* Develop and drive critical metrics to monitor and optimize the business. Generate flexible models for KPI definition and tracking to support Zappos strategic initiatives
* Own Marketplace business reporting, including creation of reports and dashboards, synthesis of take-aways, and action items. Use data mining, model building, and other analytical techniques to develop customer insights and business opportunities.
* Enable efficient decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format.
* Manage and refine key business processes, making recommendations for automation where needed and working with relevant teams on prioritization.
* Develop concise, insightful reporting on the key drivers of our business and facilitate team reviews weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
* Build business forecasts and track progress, understand business drivers, and identify levers to improve against trajectory. Contribute to progress updates and performance summaries to company business review documents. Report on business to broader group of stakeholders regularly, engage in related discussions, and own follow-ups.
* Assist with major projects through data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
* Partner with internal stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of the business need and existing challenges and act as a primary liaison with Buying and Planning teams to identify opportunities for growth. Support cross-functional teams on day-to-day business management, marketing, promotions and operations and create scalable tools and reporting to facilitate Marketplace specific insights and actions.
* Partner with key stakeholders from Product Management and Technology to prioritize roadmap decisions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Bachelors Degree
Extended Qualifications
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
