Amazon Transportation Services is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer who will own analytics and develop solutions to drive insights and optimization for driving Performance improvements. As a member of this team, you will have an opportunity to be a thought leader in Amazon Logistics and work with a group of talented program and product managers, scientists, data engineers, software developers, and business leaders to design the Amazon network of the future.

As you further your career as a BIE at Amazon, you will focus on improving corporate reporting frameworks, data visualization and scripting. You will analyze performance data from various programs, discover and solve real world problems by building metrics and business cases to improve decision making. We are focused on your success and want to build strong leaders within Amazon Transportation Services. You can expect to leverage your analytical skills and have full ownership of the projects you work on.

Key job responsibilities

路 Simplify and automate reporting, and other data-driven activities; build solutions to have maximum scale and self-service ability by stakeholders.

路 Improve back-end data sources for increased accuracy and simplicity.

路 Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.

路 Understand a broad range of Amazon鈥檚 data resources and know how, when, and which to use and which not to use.

路 Conduct deep dive analyses of business problems and formulate conclusions and recommendations to be presented to senior leadership.

路 Support business with time-critical tactical data analyses.

About the team

The Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) Network Engineering and Scheduling Technology (NEST) Business Insights (BI) team owns products that measure scheduling accuracy, downstream Volume Availability accuracy (VAA) across the network and develops tech solutions for key scheduling processes across all Outbound and Transfer shipper accounts. Our reporting on scheduling metrics enables stakeholders understand the network performance and health and take corrective actions to drive big changes in the network.



Qualifications

- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab



Extended Qualifications

- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

- Master's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
