We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer who is passionate about leveraging data to deliver actionable insights for Amazon Freight. Our ideal candidate is someone who has strong technical and analytical skills, enjoys building a new business and the ambiguity that comes with that. Key job responsibilities
路 Generate insightful analysis, reporting, and data visualizations to answer critical business questions, proactively identify notable trends, and communicate business performance
路 Translate data into actionable insights for stakeholders while proactively identifying new areas of opportunity to drive further improvements
路 Apply expertise in data mining and modeling leveraging multiple data sources to uncover unique insights, identify key performance drivers, and build predictive models
路 Work backwards from your end-customer to define, design, and execute each work item with an emphasis on improved metrics, productivity, and efficiency
路 Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
Extended Qualifications
- Master's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field- 5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Knowledge of advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools (familiarity with Tableau preferred)
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
