Location: Austin, TX

Estimated salary: $111,100
Range: $78,200 - $144,000

Description

Amazon's fulfillment network delivers millions of packages to customers every day, and the speed and reliability of that experience is powered by data. As a Business Intelligence Engineer I on our Supply Chain Execution Analytics team, you will build and maintain the dashboards, data pipelines, and reporting systems that help supply chain leaders understand network performance and make better decisions.

This role sits at the center of Amazon's customer experience flywheel: by strengthening how we measure and improve fulfillment execution, you directly enable faster, more reliable delivery, which drives customer trust, repeat purchases, and long-term growth.

Key job responsibilities

- Build and maintain data pipelines and dashboards that track fulfillment network performance, enabling supply chain planners to identify and act on deviations from plan

- Support the development of analytical frameworks by partnering with senior engineers and supply chain stakeholders to document target-state metrics and measurement definitions

- Audit upstream data inputs feeding the planning chain, including transit time configurations, forecast accuracy, and capacity assumptions, flagging data quality issues for resolution

- Investigate reported plan deviations and execution misses by performing root-cause analysis and documenting findings for team review

- Contribute to reporting automation efforts that reduce manual analysis, working within established tooling and engineering standards

A day in the life

You will start your day reviewing automated pipeline health checks and resolving any data freshness issues. You might then pull together a weekly deviation report for operations partners or join a working session with senior analysts to refine how a new metric is calculated. In the afternoon, you could be writing SQL to validate an upstream data feed or building a new dashboard view that your team's customers requested. You will work with guidance from senior engineers and have regular opportunities to learn across supply chain domains.

About the team

We provide the analytical foundation for North America's fulfillment planning and execution teams. Our customers include supply chain planners, operations leaders, and optimization engineers who rely on us to surface actionable insights. We value curiosity, clear communication, and a bias toward making analytics useful rather than just impressive. You will join a collaborative team focused on helping partners make better, faster decisions.
