Description
The Selling Partner Experience (SPX) is on a mission to build and enable a trusted Selling Assistant (Project Amelia) that empowers our partners (e.g., sellers, account managers) to thrive in Amazon Stores globally. By enabling our partners to ask questions in their own words at any time and from anywhere in their selling journey we will reduce the cognitive load of selling on Amazon by providing a single interface to handle a diverse set of selling needs. The Selling Assistant will stay by the partners' side, communicate in their language, remove bottlenecks to accessing information and enable them to capitalize on opportunities.We are looking for a dynamic, self-starting Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join our innovative team focused on LLM-based agentic conversational AI system. In this role, you will work with cutting-edge AI technologies to enhance our data infrastructure, develop BI solutions, and extract meaningful insights that drive business strategies. Your work will directly influence the development and optimization of intelligent, autonomous systems that interact with Selling Partners and learn from conversations to improve their experience doing business with Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
Design and develop scalable data pipelines to collect, transform, and store large-scale conversational data generated by LLM-based system.
Build real-time dashboards and reports that track key metrics, such as response accuracy, user engagement, and AI system effectiveness.
Analyze the autonomous behavior of agentic conversational agent using data insights, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data used by conversational AI systems, implementing data quality checks and establishing governance frameworks.
Provide support and consultation to business leaders and product managers, helping them understand performance metrics and make data-driven decisions.
Qualifications
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- 3-5 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Scientist, or related role, with a strong focus on large-scale data and AI systems.
Extended Qualifications
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Familiarity with machine learning models and AI/ML concepts, especially as they apply to conversational AI and LLMs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
