Description

As a Business Intel Engineer I in Amazon's Global Mile (GM) Exports team, you will play a crucial role in supporting Amazon's vision of providing worldwide cross-border product selection at competitive prices. You'll leverage data and analytics to enhance experiences for customers, sellers, and vendors navigating international trade and logistics. Your work will directly impact Amazon's ability to scale globally and deliver innovative solutions in e-commerce.

Key job responsibilities

- Design and execute optimized SQL queries to analyze data from relational databases like Redshift

- Collaborate on ETL data pipeline implementation for processing billions of records across multiple databases

- Partner with Data Engineers and business users to create scalable, clean data sources for analytics and reporting

- Work closely with Data Scientists and Product Managers to drive data-driven improvements to scientific models

- Develop user-friendly, repeatable reporting solutions to reduce ad hoc requests

- Define and create business-critical metrics, reports, and KPIs for forecasting products, accessible to various functions and levels

- Translate stakeholder requirements into data-driven solutions

- Conduct business analysis and complex data queries using appropriate tools

- Own and deliver periodic metrics and dashboards to leadership

- Create insightful visualizations, identify trends, and draw conclusions from processed data

- Execute high-priority, cross-functional projects to improve operational performance

- Design and develop robust dashboards using SQL, Excel, Tableau, or QuickSight

- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to align on focus areas and drive results

Qualifications

- 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

- Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)

- Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)



Extended Qualifications

- Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree

- Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design

- Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $74,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
