Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Finance Manager to join our Insights, Planning, Analytics and Tech team. The team is responsible for managing financial rhythms of the business, including the annual operating plan, long range plan, regular forecast process, and for providing analytical support to senior management. This impactful position requires superior analytical strength, attention to detail, open communication and the ability to work autonomously on multiple high priority projects. In this role, the Finance Manager will partner with the AWS Finance leadership team to manage stakeholder communication, team deliverables, and financial planning calendar. The role requires a strong sense of urgency and the ability to make sound judgement.The ideal candidate is a seasoned FP&A manager who is decisive, action-oriented, and able to motivate and lead cross-functional teams. The right candidate is an expert in process design and continuous improvement, and is unapologetic about having extremely high standards for quality of work. In addition, this person must have the ability to think strategically and act tactically at the same time, have a proven record of delivering process-related projects with measurable results, and possess strong written and oral communication skills.
Key job responsibilities
Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple groups with competing priorities
Program manage our financial planning processes.
Streamline processes and lead improvement projects.
Develop the right metrics to measure process quality and productivity, providing meaningful feedback to the technology and business teams.
Play a leading in role in shaping our financial systems and automation/technology roadmap. We want to innovate our way out of manual models, using GenAI technology and analytical tools.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Extended Qualifications
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
