We seek an experienced Internal Audit Manager to support our World Wide Amazon Stores Audit team who applies broad operational knowledge and sound business judgment to execute audits across our diverse businesses and technical environments. Stores is one of the largest areas of Amazon’s business, and its Operations continue to scale and grow rapidly, and includes fulfillment centers, supply chain, logistics, transportation, and physical stores. This is a high visibility opportunity where you will gain valuable exposure to many areas within our business, and make important improvements that make a real difference. Our team is cross-functional and you will perform a wide range of operational and technical audits. You must be comfortable performing as a sole contributor and teammate.

As an Internal Audit Manager, you will lead the planning, scoping, execution, and reporting of audits based on identified risks related to various Amazon businesses. In this position you will dig deep into the details of your audits. You must be able to understand complex business processes and identify the full range of risks related to processes, regulatory compliance, organization, policy, and technology. You will interact with highly technical operations and software development engineers and business leaders at various levels to collect and communicate information. You will use your project management skills to lead a team and conduct your own audits from beginning to end, often managing multiple projects at once.

We don’t want someone who can just find risks. You should be able to translate risks into business issues. You will use your excellent writing skills to succinctly communicate complicated operational and technical issues in business terms. You must prioritize findings and recommendations in tune with our corporate strategy and regulations. You will prepare reports and make presentations to senior level management. You should be able to facilitate multiple stakeholders to agree on appropriate solutions and verify that risks are mitigated appropriately.

Up to 10-20% travel may be required, including international travel.

Location flexibility dependent on candidate experience and proximity to key stakeholders, open to US Amazon Corp Office Locations.

Preferred locations for this role are Seattle, WA and Arlington, VA.

- Is able to prioritize effectively and drive cross-functional remediation efforts focusing on the highest risks and ensure problems stay fixed.

- Is able to dive deep to identify root cause of control gaps, inefficiencies and exceptions.

- Delivers on the highest standards by challenging assumptions and supporting with data.

- Can identify opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify Internal Audit tools and processes.

- Is able to support and advocate for a culture of risk management, strong controls, and effective operations.

- Is an excellent writer who can succinctly communicate complicated technical issues.

- Can quickly become familiar with stakeholders business challenges and risks and act as a trusted advisor to them while leading change, dealing with ambiguity among cross functional teams.

About the team

Our team focuses on the Worldwide Amazon Stores Business, which includes all the processes and systems from the time the customer “clicks” to order a product to the item being delivered or returned and everything in between. Our audit universe is inventory procurement, fulfillment center operations, customer fulfillment, customer delivery experience, supply chain optimization, transportation, Amazon Logistics, robotics, health, safety, and environmental compliance, customer service, and unique delivery channels like WFM, Prime Now, Fresh and Pantry.



Qualifications

- 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent



Extended Qualifications

- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification

- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent

- Master's degree or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
