Description

Amazon Design Excellence is looking for a versatile, hands-on Art Director of Brand & Content to bring Amazon Design's visual identity to life across brand, marketing, events, and digital platforms. In this role, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day creative production that makes Amazon's design community look and feel cohesive, polished, and distinctive at every touchpoint.

You will develop and produce creative deliverables end-to-end across a wide range of formats: event branding and signage, marketing campaigns, website pages, newsletters, social content, and external-facing brand assets. You'll work across digital, print, motion, experiential, and environmental design, and you'll be the person ensuring that Amazon Design's web presence is visually sharp, well-structured, and consistently on-brand. This means rolling up your sleeves on layout, typography, asset production, and visual QA just as often as you're developing a creative concept.

This is an individual contributor role on the ADX team. You'll partner with program managers across community engagement, events, communications, learning & development, and external reputation to translate their goals into compelling creative work. The ideal candidate has strong conceptual thinking and a wide range of craft skills, but what really sets them apart is the ability to move fast, manage multiple projects in parallel, and consistently deliver high-quality production assets across formats and channels without losing the thread on brand coherence.

Key job responsibilities

Brand & Visual Identity

• Maintain and evolve the Amazon Design visual identity across ADX touchpoints. Keep brand guidelines, templates, and asset libraries current so the broader team can create on-brand content quickly and independently.

• Build and maintain scalable design systems, component libraries, and production templates that reduce turnaround time and improve consistency across deliverables.

Web Design & Digital Content

• Design page layouts, visual hierarchy, and reusable components for the Amazon.design website. Create page templates and design frameworks that content producers can publish into with confidence.

• Produce custom graphics, hero imagery, illustrations, and visual assets for articles, case studies, and features published on the site.

• Ensure all published content is polished, on-brand, and displays correctly across devices and breakpoints. • Partner with the Copy Strategist to translate editorial content into visually compelling page experiences.

• Design monthly newsletters and email campaigns with visual layouts that drive engagement.

Events Creative

• Execute creative production for Conflux (Amazon's internal design conference), Town Halls, and other community events, including marketing collateral, signage, environmental graphics, and promotional materials at all scales.

• Coordinate content capture (photography, video, written recaps) during events for post-event storytelling across digital channels.

Marketing & Communications

• Create visual assets for internal and external campaigns across email, social, digital platforms, and the Amazon Design website.

• Produce year-in-review and milestone storytelling pieces with visual narratives that amplify the design community's impact.

Qualifications

- Have an online portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills and advertising experience across a range of media and platforms, along with work that reflects your design process

- 3+ years of professional experience in art direction, graphic design, visual design, or content production

- Familiarity with generative AI tools and their application in creative workflows

Extended Qualifications

- Experience with motion design

- Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar

- Familiarity with generative AI tools and their application in creative workflows

- Experience designing for large-scale events (conferences, summits, activations)
