Key job responsibilities

We are looking for an Applied Scientist II to drive innovation in voice-powered music experiences, leveraging machine learning to revolutionize personalized recommendations and track sequencing across all Amazon Music platforms.

- You will research and develop advanced ML models that revolutionize how customers interact with Amazon Music using voice, focusing on personalized recommendations and seamless track sequencing across all interfaces.

- You will design and evaluate ML algorithms for content selection and ranking, powering intelligent voice recommendations that deliver highly personalized music experiences across Unlimited, Prime, and Free tiers.

- You will collaborate with engineers and applied scientists to integrate and optimize ML sequencing models across various voice and visual interfaces (e.g., AutoPlay, Stations, etc.), enhancing customer engagement.

- You will conduct scientific experiments and share research findings to advance the field of ML-driven voice music experiences.

The Sequencing and Voice Recommendations Team is at the forefront of revolutionizing how customers experience music through voice. We are a dynamic and innovative group of engineers and applied scientists dedicated to leveraging Generative AI and machine learning to create deeply personalized and engaging music experiences across all Amazon Music platforms. Our mission is to transform voice interaction into a seamless and intuitive gateway to music discovery and enjoyment. We focus on developing advanced algorithms for personalized recommendations, intelligent track sequencing, and robust voice-powered content delivery. We collaborate closely with product managers to ideate, experiment, and launch voice experiences that redefine how millions of users interact with music. Qualifications

- 3+ years of building models for business application experience

- PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience

- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language

- Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
