* Hire and develop a team of high performing applied scientists that is responsible for developing AI solutions for Sponsored Brands advertiser and shopper experiences.
* You should be technically solid, able to roll up your sleeves easily, and have strong curiosity and appetite to invent Gen AI solutions that solve customer problems.
* Build recommendation systems that leverage generative models to develop and improve campaigns.
* Technically lead and mentor the scientists on the team.
* Research and apply the latest Gen AI and ML techniques and best practices.
* Use analytical techniques to create scalable solutions for business problems.
* Establish structures that enable your team to solve complex problems and deliver results.

In this role, you will design and implement Gen AI solutions that help millions of advertisers create more effective ad campaigns with intelligent recommendations, while improving the overall experience at Amazon's global scale.

Qualifications
- 4+ years of applied research experience- 3+ years of scientists or machine learning engineers management experience
- 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
- PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
- Knowledge of ML, NLP, Information Retrieval and Analytics
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Deep curiosity, and basic knowledge on Gen AI
Extended Qualifications
- Experience building complex software systems, especially involving deep learning, machine learning and computer vision, that have been successfully delivered to customers- Previous work on agents or LLMs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $165,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $286,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
