Description
The Fuse Accounting team owns the financial controllership and accounting operations for Amazon Fuse, a rapidly growing global business that partners with telecom carriers and media distributors to deliver wholesale and resale subscription offerings across Amazon's portfolio of digital services. This role is central to strengthening controllership across the organization. You will partner closely with business, tech, finance, and accounting teams to manage and develop scalable financial controls and processes, drive long-term strategies, and lead new initiatives that uphold high controllership standards and enable the business to scale efficiently.The right individual will have exceptional accounting skills, strong leadership skills, and solid business judgment capable of driving an organization to the right results. They will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment, and have the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives. The successful candidate will collaborate with accounting teams and work closely with business and tech teams to support new launches, drive high-impact AI and automation initiatives, and deliver productivity improvements. They must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically.
Key job responsibilities
- Own and manage the monthly/quarterly close process, including preparing journal entries, analyzing variances, and delivering meaningful financial reporting to management
- Review new contracts and interpret contractual terms to determine appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606
- Prepare and review technical accounting memos under US GAAP, ensuring regulatory compliance
- Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls and design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Business, Finance, and Tax to ensure alignment, compliance, and scalability
- Drive projects, provide accounting guidance, and often serve as first point of contact for finance and business partners to launch new projects and resolve issues
- Evaluate existing processes and recommend, develop, and drive improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
- Drive AI and automation solutions for operational improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy across accounting processes
Qualifications
- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Extended Qualifications
- CPA- Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
- MBA
- Experience participating in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
