The QUEST team within Windows Strategy and Ecosystem is looking for an experienced Data Analyst with a history in, and a real passion for data, that wants to make an impact in the industry, to help our hardware partners build high-quality, differentiated devices across the entire ecosystem of Windows, including: PC, Server, and IoT. Ideally, you'll have a background in driving quality influenced by telemetry and data science principles. You have a quality-first mindset, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to communicate and collaborate across a variety of disciplines to meet the needs of our partners. We combine our data science work with business and engineering knowledge to provide unique insight into customer scenarios that are leading the data-driven culture within the team. Job activities may include: • Deep dive data analysis of partners existing data reports. • Training partners to better leverage their data and reports. • Working with partners directly to understand their data needs and help shape the questions and insights they want to see. • Driving leading edge new data and insight reports that can later scale out to the ecosystem. • Representing Microsoft in engineering partner engagements with senior executives. • Delivering presentations relating to partner reports and insights. • Leverage Data and Insights to help drive OEM and ODM device quality improvements
In general, candidates need to have: • 4+ years of experience in a similar data analyst role. • Degree in in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Economics, or other quant-focused field. • Experience performing basic data analysis including extracting raw data, applying statistics to data, cleaning data, and other aspects of preparing data for analysis. • Engineering experience using large data systems on SQL, Hadoop, Spark, etc. • Proficiency using one or more programming or scripting language like Python, Scala, or C# to work with data. • Experience with product and service
