Overview

This is a rare opportunity to join the Office of the CTO for Experiences + Devices as its first Technical Program Manager. In this role, reporting to the the VP of AI Innovation, you will work with leaders across Microsoft on projects that shape the future of Microsoft’s products. You will drive cross-organizational programs that require exceptional influence, clarity, and execution to unlock customer value across the Microsoft product portfolio (including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Office, Teams, Power Platform, Dynamics, Windows, Surface, Fabric, and Azure), Our small team operates in Horizon 2—the entrepreneurial middle ground between today’s products and the long-term future—where ambiguity is the norm and innovation is essential. We focus on product and platform investments that wil accelerate AI innovation over the next 9–18 months, such as Memory, Data & Tool-Calling, and Omni-Modal experiences. This role is about bringing these platform and product investments to life, driving customer-value focused cross-organization programs that wouldn't happen naturally within existing structures. This is an opportunity to work on Microsoft’s most strategic initiatives, with direct exposure to senior executives and influence across the entire Experiences + Devices organization. Responsibilities

Drive high-visibilty, cross-organizational programs (starting with Fabric IQ x Work IQ integration, and holistic customer feedback systems across M365 Copilot to shape eval sets)Align multiple teams and stakeholders around shared goals, ensuring clarity of vision and progress.Influence senior leaders and engineering teams without direct management authority.Communicate effectively across technical and business audiences, providing crisp updates and driving alignment.Operate with entrepreneurial mindset—navigating ambiguity, taking initiative, and creating clarity where none exists.Embody our Culture and Values

Qualifications

Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.Preferred QualificationsTrack record of delivering strategic software development programs in Microsoft or similarly large-scale technology organizations.Proven ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across multiple teams.Demonstrated technical foundation with experience working on both end-user products and platform-level investments.Exceptional communication and organizational skills; ability to synthesize complex topics for senior leadership, as well as break complex issues into their component parts to create detailed roadmaps and drive execution.Experience working with AI technologies, including evaluation frameworks or data-driven product development.Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated ability to identify and execute on emerging opportunities.Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.

Technical Program Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
