We are on a journey to enable developer friendly, mission-critical, AI enabled operational Databases across relational, non-relational and OSS offerings.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to drive critical investments in the core database engine, shaping how we build, scale, and optimize the foundational capabilities that power mission‑critical workloads at global scale. This role will focus on the storage engine, query processing engine, and end‑to‑end performance, directly influencing reliability, scalability, and efficiency for some of the world’s most demanding database applications.

Own the product strategy and execution for core SQL engine investments across the storage engine, query processing engine, and performance, ensuring these foundational capabilities meet Azure SQL’s long‑term scalability, reliability, and efficiency goals.

Partner deeply with engineering and architecture leaders to prioritize and shape engine‑level decisions that improve latency, throughput, and predictability for diverse and demanding customer workloads.

Translate customer and workload insights into clear product direction, balancing near‑term performance improvements with durable architectural choices that benefit the broader Azure SQL platform over time.

Define measurable success criteria for core engine initiatives, tracking performance, reliability, and cost‑efficiency outcomes to demonstrate sustained customer and business impact.

Influence aligned execution across teams—including applied engineering, field, and partner groups—by clearly communicating complex technical trade‑offs and ensuring solutions are well understood and adopted.
