The Word Web team is looking for a software design engineer to help us deliver exciting new capabilities to the online version of Word. These capabilities will range from low level capabilities of a world class word processor, to supporting new modes of work/collaboration, and explorations into futuristic capabilities for how Word enhances your ability to write.

Your role will involve designing, building, and experimenting with sophisticated user-interface, document-editing, and layout capabilities as a set of service and web frontend application. You will be responsible for quality of the customers' experience including world class performance and reliability. You will work closely in a small team of engineers to deliver end-to-end capabilities to users which will enable you to work full stack or specialize in different areas based on your preference.
Requirements for this position include: - 2+ years of software engineering experience working in a product development space - Demonstrated technical aptitude (design, development, debugging, testing, etc) - Great communication and collaboration skills - A BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent work experience - Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, and/or comparable languages - A passion for excellence and technology. Experience with full-stack, open-source Web technologies (e.g. React, MobX, Node, etc), and/or user interface development are a plus.
