As the Global team within the Experience + Devices (E + D) organization, we are responsible for ensuring users across the globe have an experience they truly love, where no language barrier impedes their collaboration and productivity. Given our expansive scope of ownership, spanning major product lines such as Windows, Office and Xbox, we are uniquely positioned to immensely enrich user experiences by leveraging the latest technological advances in Machine Learning (ML) and AI, regardless of what computing device our users choose. We are in the early phases of advancing and adapting Machine Translation (MT) to automate and streamline our product localization processes. We are partnering with teams across Microsoft to identify and solve the next set of technical problems in the MT space to ensure highest quality of experiences for our users.

Our team is looking for a self-driven and skilled engineer to design and implement the latest set of innovations in the MT space, specifically solving problems that hinder our ability to fully leverage MT for delivering local experiences in our major product lines. Our goal is to build a world class system that encapsulates a highly-accurate MT backend coupled with a high-scale feedback pipeline from users for continuous improvement. Your work will require you to collaborate with various teams within Microsoft, understand and contribute to a sophisticated code-base, work with data to analyze and
• 5+ years of software development experience • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related engineering/science field • Proficiency in at least one OOP language, preferably C#, C++ and/or Java • Hands-on experience in the application of Machine Learning and AI methodologies • Strong understanding of core computer science concepts, such as algorithms and data structures • Customer empathy, effective communication and collaboration skills as well as curiosity to learn • Experience in Deep Learning, Neural Networks, Natural Language Processing, Machine Translation and/or Data Science are all
