Bing IndexServe platform team is the backbone of the Bing web search, serving all customer queries from 100B documents to identifying the most relevant 10 documents within 180ms latency. We are managing one of the world's largest distribute system, and have been very successful in building efficient large scale distributed system for search. With the advancing in hardware, machines are becoming more and more powerful, how to fully utilize machine resources is becoming a bigger challenge. The agility of engineering and deployment is also a big challenge when handling such a big complex system. AI and deep learning has been driving up our result relevance in the last 2+ year dramatically. The team needs more resources to juice up our platform to experiment and ship AI/DL technologies on our platform. As a software engineer in the index serve platform team, you will work with engineers to enrich and improve the serving platform on efficiency, performance, latency, and capability, in particular AI/DL, (re)ranking signal data. You need to work closely with relevance team to build a deep learning and signal platform for web search.
BS in computer science or related field. MS and Ph.D are preferred. 2+ years of software development experience with high quality coding and production code debug in any of the following languages: C++, C#, Java, Python, Scala. Solid knowledge in computer science Strong skills in software design, problem solving and communication Systems development experience is a plus, as is experience in one or more of Distributed Systems, open source Hadoop, Spark, Docker etc.
