The Team: Amazon is working on several initiatives in physical retail including Amazon Go, Amazon Books and Whole Foods Market. This role will work to develop network infrastructure products that will support these initiatives. The Role: Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment. As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of 6+ highly skilled Network Development Engineers and Software Development Engineers. In addition, you will be responsible for end-to-end product ownership including architecture, software, tooling, standards, new builds and scale. Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, strong project management and time management skills and has a successful track record of leading teams that design simple, innovative solutions. The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment is essential. Responsibilities
· BS in Computer Science or related field · Minimum of 3-5 years of software development, and a similar amount in software management experience. · Experience leading software engineering for industry leading IP network solutions. · Experience representing your team/technical area to stakeholders. · Experience managing and developing direct reports (performance review communication, accountability, motivation/engagement). · MS in Computer Science or related field · 8+ years in a technology role and 4+ years in a management. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Excellent analytical
