Do you have a passion for large scale data processing and building predictive models? Are you interested in scalable solutions for Big Data analytics? The Amazon Browse Classification and Discovery team is seeking a Software Engineer for building a set of services responsible for data processing, mining Taxonomy Insights and build ML models that will measure the customer impact of the Amazon Taxonomy. You will lead technically a team of experienced developers, work closely with Taxonomists and Applied Scientists to deliver models into the Amazon production ecosystem and interact with different organizations. Your efforts will build a robust ensemble of techniques that can measure, predict performance and influence investments in Classification and Taxonomy across marketplaces and languages. We are seeking an outstanding Software Engineer to help build and support a cutting edge business platform, analytics and predictive models programs. · Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or 4+ additional years work experience) · 3+ years relevant professional development experience, preferably in a LINUX environment · Proficiency in Java, C++, or C# · Experience with big data tools like Hadoop, Spark, EMR (Amazon Elastic Map Reduce) · Strong problem solving skills · Strong skills in data structures, algorithms and object oriented design · History of delivering high quality production systems/services· Master’s degree in Computer Science · 5+ years professional software development experience · Exposure to column-oriented
