The AWS Hardware Engineering team is driving rapid innovation in the server and storage infrastructure used by Amazon Web Services. Our Software Engineers solve challenging technology problems, and take big bets on new concepts, enabling AWS services to continue to revolutionize the industry. The ideal candidate for this role is an innovative self-starter. You are an expert in multiple programming domains, including RTL, firmware, and scripting. You use comprehensive system knowledge to find the best solutions to multi-factor problems. You enjoy working with engineers across the company as well as external companies on green field development efforts. · Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field · 5+ years’ experience in software development as an engineer · Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate · Experience with software development in C / C++ / Verilog / SystemVerilog · Working knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Shell, Make · Experience with low-level communication protocols like I2C, SPI, UART · Understanding of ARM and Intel architecture · Understanding of server platform design and architecture · Understanding of server manageability (BMC, IPMI)
