Amazon is looking for a Senior Manager (Software Development) to work on Amazon Go, Amazon Books and Amazon 4-Star, which are Amazon's first set of brick and mortar retail stores. Amazon Go is a new kind of store with no lines and no checkout – you just grab and go! Customers simply use the Amazon Go app to enter the store, take what they want from our selection of fresh, delicious meals and grocery essentials, and go! Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by our Just Walk Out Technology, which automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. When you’re done shopping, you can just leave the store. Shortly after, we’ll charge your Amazon account and send you a receipt. · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline · 10+ years of relevant engineering experience · 10+ years of experience in understanding of all aspects of software engineering, including coding, architecture, and driver development · 5+ years people management experience or relevant leadership experience · 2+ years managing managers · Strong technical thinking and demonstrated ability to lead software design and coding in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C#, C/C++, Ruby, Python, or JavaScript · Experience building complex software
