If you are an experienced systems or software developer who is passionate about building the Linux desktop of the future at the scale of AWS, then this is the job for you. The Amazon Linux WorkSpaces team is responsible for the design and maintenance of all of the desktop experience on Amazon Linux with a special focus on development environments. Software Development Engineers work with technical leaders to refine technical direction, and then follow through with detailed analysis, designs, and superior code. They are equally comfortable leading small, focused project teams as well as making major direct contributions to the project. They deliver features with minimal direct oversight. The ideal candidate for this role will be comfortable with the Linux operating system and understand how to develop in languages such as C, C++, Python, Go, Java, and Ruby in a Linux environment. Experience
· BA/BS in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience. · At least 6 years of industry experience focused on Linux. · Experience using the typical Linux toolbox of open source software and management tools.· Previous experience developing distributed systems · Experience with Debian / Ubuntu packaging · Experience with RPM packaging · Skilled in at least two of C, C++, shell, Python, Go, Java, or Ruby. · A solid understanding of Linux networking. · Experience working with the open source community. · 10+ years experience.
