343 Industries is looking for a talented and passionate Lead Technical Designer to help design, document, and implement game systems, modes, and content for our next Halo shooter experience. This person will be in charge of managing a team of Technical Designers and ensuring that the prioritization of their tasks, tools initiatives, and game systems are consistent as well as communicated across our holistic teams. This person must be passionate about system design, as well as posses strong soft-skills in order to manage effectively, communicate with other disciplines, and make on-boarding of new Designers easier.
RESPONSIBILITIES : Manage a team of Technical Designers Communicate tools and systems designs across disciplines Ensure consistency and high level of quality of new design tools and systems that come online across all holistic teams Ensure new systems and tools improvements are scoped correctly, ensuring each team's needs are met Work with both Design and Engineering to ensure priotiziation of tools and systems improvements Collect and prioritize feedback from holistic teams, while working with production to ensure work is captured Troubleshoot and fix bugs and implemented systems Mentor and train
REQUIREMENTS : 6+ years of AAA game experience as a Senior or higher Systems or Tools Designer 2+ years of professional experience with code or scripting languages (C, LUA, and/or others) Strong management skills with the ability to performance manage and keep their team focused and motivated Proven background of working across discipline with Artists, Engineers, QA, and Production staff Strong communication skills, verbal and written Passion for and extensive game knowledge Proven knowledge of and ability to learn new game toolsets, proprietary or otherwise Desire to consistently deliver high-quality
