The F3 (AmazonFresh and PrimeNow) Retail BI team is hiring an intern in Economics who is passionate about data, uncovering insights, and telling business stories to leaders and stakeholders through econometric modeling. We are looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and responsible individual who is eager to learn how to work with large and complicated data sets in a retail business environment. This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week with compensation being awarded on an hourly basis. You will learn how to build data sets and perform applied econometric analysis at Internet speed, collaborating with economists, data scientists, and MBAs. These skills will translate well into writing applied chapters in your dissertation and provide you with work experience that may help you with placement. Roughly 50% of research assistants from previous cohorts have converted to full time data science or economics employment at Amazon. Amazon is an Equal Opportunity-Affirmative Action Employer

· PhD student in Economics · Expertise with at least one programming language, such as R, MATLAB or Python · Experience in applied time series models · Familiarity with causal inference models · Effective verbal and written communications skills· Beginner SQL knowledge · Experience working with large data sets · Research experience in business topics · Experience using machine learning techniques
