Description

The Worldwide Surface Category team is at the heart of the consumer business at Microsoft and part of the Consumer Sales Organization (CSO). The Surface consumer business is incredibly fast paced, growing, with a strong portfolio of innovative products. This is an opportunity to join an integral team with high impact to the global Surface business. Our team works closely with our Global Sales, Finance, Marketing, Category, Ops teams around the world as well as adjacent Orgs within corp. The Surface Performance Team is tasked with developing the strategies and tactics to drive Surface consumer growth and profitability. Responsible for execution of the investments that enable our promotional strategies, programs, marketing all optimized for ROI. As a Worldwide Surface Category Director for this team, you’ll be tasked with developing individuals for success as the navigate the day-to-day operations as well as ambiguous.

Lead team(s) in defining, organizing, and driving our overall Surface strategy near term and longer range 18-24 months out related to investments, programs, and promotional tactics.Influence senior leadership and drive alignment across complex organizational structures. Lead team(s) to define significant business impact across the organization, success criteria, and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and KPIs). Work on all aspects of business performance from initial fiscal year budgeting and planning, monthly and weekly insights on global performance, and long-range strategic projects.The candidate should be an exceptional communicator and storyteller; capable of delivering insights in a concise and consumable manner across the organization including our executives to enable decisions that ultimately run and grow our business. Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in businessOR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ years experience in businessOR equivalent experience.4+ years direct people management experience or indirect people management experience (or virtual teams)Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 12+ years experience in businessOR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in businessOR equivalent experience.Experience with using data to drive prioritization and measure progress. Experience developing and delivering executive level presentations.Experience working on complex problems while retaining focus on maintaining a profitable business.People management experience.Experience working with Consumer or retail channels.Experience working in situations with high levels of ambiguity.Product Marketing M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.
