Join the Vehicle Art Department within the Creative Organization at Turn 10 Studios, where we craft world-class automotive experiences for players around the globe.

As a Senior Vehicle Artist, you will be part of a passionate team dedicated to delivering visually stunning and technically accurate vehicles and help shape the future of automotive experiences.

As a key member of the Vehicle Art Department within our Creative Organization, this is an on-site position where you will collaborate closely with artists, engineers, leads and directors at our Redmond, WA studio. You’ll bring deep vehicle authoring knowledge and capabilities as well as production expertise to support both local and remote teams, ensuring the highest standards of quality and innovation throughout the entire vehicle production pipeline.

The ideal candidate combines a strong artistic background with a keen eye for meticulous details, experience shipping racing games as a vehicle artist, strong technical proficiency, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is passionate about solving complex artistic and technical challenges. If you have experience crafting vehicles or hard surface assets for AAA titles, managing outsourced content, and driving visual excellence, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Vehicle Art Team to craft, implement, tune, and polish vehicles for highly detailed, production-ready accuracy.Partner with technical teams to develop efficiency-enhancing tools and workflows and optimizations.Conduct Research & Develomment, (R&D) on new processes and techniques to drive innovation.Maintain production and quality standards for all shared content.Document and distribute authoring and specifications, procedures, and training materials.Act as a reference point for artistic elements, proactively solving complex issues.Create and refine textures, materials, and shaders to accurately represent real-world finishes (paint, metals, plastics, fabric).Develop spec sheets and instructional documentation to support internal and external teams.Use proprietary engine tools to integrate, fine-tune, and test assets in-game.Take ownership of assigned tasks, ensuring accountability for quality and timely delivery.Manage time effectively, balancing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or Certificate in Design, Fine Arts, Human Computer Interaction, Visual Communications or related art field AND 4+ years experience in art design or a related art field working on computer games or entertainment.OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Comprehensive portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of 3D vehicle art, including advanced modeling and surfacing capabilities.Bachelor’s degree or certificate in 3D Digital Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communications, or a related art discipline, combined with 5+ years of professional experience in video game development, art design, or digital entertainment, or equivalent industry experience.Expert proficiency with industry-standard 2D and 3D software tools such as Photoshop, 3Ds Max, Maya, Substance Painter/Designer.Exceptional attention to detail with proven ability to accurately replicate real-world materials, finishes, and surface qualities.Strong technical foundation in hard-surface modeling, UV mapping, texture creation, material setup, and shader development.Track record of success, having shipped at least two AAA titles as a vehicle artist or in an equivalent role, preferably full production cycle.Proficiency with tools such as ZBrush, SideFX Houdini, and Adobe After Effects for high-fidelity modeling and visual effects.Strong understanding of automotive design principles and mechanical component functionality.Passion for cars and deep appreciation of car culture, bringing authenticity and enthusiasm to vehicle art creation.

Art IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
