Description

Join the ModeDS (Motion Development and Design Systems) team and help shape the future of collaboration experiences across Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Planner, and Engage. As a UX Engineer, you’ll be part of an innovative group that sits at the intersection of Design and Engineering. You’ll work alongside experienced designers and UX engineers, contributing to our design system and engaging in how AI is reshaping how we design, build and ship products. You will collaborate with partners across products and disciplines, including Design, Research, Engineering and Program Management.

For our design systems, you will develop features with an eye for accessibility and polish. For our design-to-code workflows, you will learn and apply new tooling and automation to our systems. Our goal is to create deeper efficiencies in our system and between Design and Engineering that lead to better product outcomes.

Collaborate with peers to develop polished front-end components and experiences.Learn and apply new tools and automation to improve design-to-code workflows.Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from peers and leads.Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, escalating issues as needed.Proactively plan and estimate time needed to create artifacts.Follow best practices and provide code review feedback to your peers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field OR equivalent experience.1+ years’ experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.Preferred Qualifications:Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 1+ year(s) relevant internship/work experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production code OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 2+ years related work experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production code OR equivalent experience.Ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly within a team.Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities.Portfolio (GitHub or similar) showing relevant work is encouraged.Familiarity with front-end fundamentals (accessibility, performance, and responsive design).Exposure to Figma and/or other design tools.Interest in developing skills in full-stack technologies and internal design systems.UX Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $84,200 - $165,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $109,000 - $180,400 per year.
