Responsibilities
Design end-to-end conversational experiences across voice in/out, screen + voice, and vision + voice modalities on Windows, Web, Mobile and across multiple app experiences.Collaborate with LLM service teams to shape prompt strategies, output formatting, and fallback behaviors.Prototype and test multimodal interactions that balance clarity, efficiency, and delight.Define interaction models for turn-taking, interruptibility, and contextual grounding in voice-first and hybrid experiences.Partner with researchers, PMs, scientists, and engineers to validate designs and iterate based on user feedback and telemetry.Contribute to design systems and frameworks that scale across products and platforms.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service designOR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service designOR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems). 4+ years of experience in UX design, with at least 2 years focused on conversational interfaces or voice UX.Preferred Qualifications:
Solid portfolio demonstrating multimodal interaction design (e.g., voice + screen, vision + voice) and deep understanding of speech UX constraints, LLM behavior, and prompt engineering.Proficiency in Figma, prototyping tools, and usability testing methods.Experience working on Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar AI assistants.Background in linguistics, cognitive science, or human-computer interaction (HCI).Experience designing for low-latency, real-time voice interactions.
Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
