We’re looking for a passionate and strategic leader to shape how Microsoft engages with university students around the world. As the University Students, Program Lead, you’ll design and drive programs and initiatives that make students feel uniquely valued, empowered, and connected to Microsoft’s mission—especially in this age of AI.

This role blends research and strategic vision with hands-on execution. You’ll lead cross-functional initiatives, collaborate with global stakeholders, and use insights to evolve our university student engagement strategy. You’ll also play a key role in amplifying student voices and contributions across our social platforms.

With minimal guidance you will be expected to leverage direction and strategy from leadership in order to execute plans to evolve current priorities to new organizational initiatives and objectives, and influences others to change behavior accordingly with minimal guidance. Help define vision and strategy for change, broad and specific impact, and the flow of communication to the organization. Ensure alignment, buy in, and adoption of program changes throughout the organization.

Project Management: Drive end-to-end execution of student-focused initiatives, ensuring clear timelines, stakeholder alignment, and measurable outcomes across global teams. Deliver projects in alignment with organizational goals while maintaining quality and optimizing resources.Jobs-to-be-Done Development: Define and continuously refine the “jobs to be done” for university students engaging with Microsoft—ensuring programs, content, and tools are aligned with their evolving needs, motivations, and aspirations.Student-Centric Strategy: Develop and execute a global strategy to engage university students in meaningful, innovative ways.Program Leadership: Lead and evolve flagship programs like the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors, ensuring they remain relevant, inclusive, and impactful.AI & Copilot Readiness: Design initiatives to help students skill up on Copilot and become confident AI users and developers.Community & Social Engagement: Partner with social and content teams to feature student stories and contributions on platforms like TikTok and Instagram.Insights & Impact: Gather and analyze student feedback, program data, and market trends to inform strategy and measure success.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, marketing, education, and developer relations teams to align student programs with broader company goals.Embody our Culture and Values

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Vocational qualification or higher education degree (e.g., Bachelor's Degree) AND/OR 2+ years experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, HR, customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management OR Master's Degree or equivalent AND/OR 1+ year(s) experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, quota management, human resources (HR), customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management OR equivalent experience. 2+ years of Project Managment experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Vocational qualification or higher education degree (e.g., Bachelor's Degree) AND 6+ years experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, HR, customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management OR Master's Degree or equivalent AND 4+ years experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, human resources (HR), customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management OR equivalent experience. Microsoft Fundamentals, Coaching (e.g., International Coaching Federation), Project and/or Program Management Professional, archival, or a similar certificate. Demonstrates commitment to career development and continuous or consistent learning through formal and informal efforts (e.g., change management, design thinking, management training, online courses). Experience designing and leading university student programs at scale.Understanding of student needs, motivations, and learning journeys.Project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple initiatives.Experience working in a global, cross-functional environment.Passion for AI, education, and community building.Familiarity with Microsoft Learn, developer tools, or social media engagement strategies.Integrated Learning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
