Commerce + Ecosystems (C+E) is responsible for enabling and optimizing the end-to-end customer journey on the Microsoft Cloud.

C+E’s Commerce Financial Platforms (CFP) team is responsible for Financial Platforms, Global Payments Platform, Employee Financial Experiences, and C+E Compliance, and also develops and operates financial commerce platforms and tools that perform all revenue management functions for our customers, partners, and staff worldwide.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager in our Financial Platforms Team, your role will be to lead and support features within Microsoft’s financial data and reporting environment. Ensuring on-time, accurate, compliant, and insightful enterprise-grade data products is the goal, and the ideal candidate will have extensive experience with delivering complex projects in a financial reporting ecosystem. The candidate must be ready to build relationships across multiple stakeholder and engineering teams to meet evolving needs for financial data and reporting. Responsibilities

Strategic Program Leadership

Drives the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Mercury Reporting & Analytics initiatives that support Microsoft's Finance transformation objectives.

Identifies opportunities to improve business outcomes through data modernization, reporting innovation, process simplification, and platform evolution.

Incorporates customer, stakeholder, and business insights to influence investments, priorities, and long-term strategy.

Anticipates future business needs and aligns program investments to deliver scalable and sustainable solutions.

Business Impact & Customer Focus

Partners with Finance, Engineering, Data, and Business stakeholders to understand critical business challenges and translate them into strategic program opportunities.

Advocates for customer and business needs throughout planning, prioritization, and execution.

Measures success through business outcomes, user adoption, operational efficiency, and reporting effectiveness.

Drives programs that improve the accessibility, quality, trustworthiness, and usability of financial data.

Cross-Functional Program Execution

Leads complex, cross-organizational programs with multiple dependencies, stakeholders, and implementation teams.

Orchestrates planning, execution, and delivery activities across engineering, product, data, and business organizations.

Resolves ambiguity and balances competing priorities to drive alignment and execution excellence.

Establishes clear success criteria, milestones, and accountability mechanisms to deliver measurable results.

Product, Data, and Platform Modernization

Guides modernization efforts across Mercury reporting platforms, financial data ecosystems, and reporting experiences.

Collaborates with engineering teams to influence architecture, platform capabilities, and investment decisions supporting future business needs.

Drives the adoption of modern data platforms, AI-powered insights, and automation capabilities that improve reporting efficiency and decision making.

Identifies opportunities to simplify processes, reduce operational burden, and improve platform scalability.

Risk, Governance, and Compliance

Drives disciplined program governance to ensure delivery predictability, transparency, and accountability.

Proactively identifies risks, dependencies, and blockers, developing mitigation strategies that protect business commitments.

Ensures alignment with security, privacy, accessibility, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Promotes operational excellence through continuous improvement, measurement, and governance practices.

Stakeholder Management & Executive Communications

Builds trusted partnerships across Finance leadership, engineering organizations, and executive stakeholders.

Influences decision making through data-driven insights, strategic recommendations, and effective communication.

Provides executive-level visibility into program health, risks, milestones, and business impact.

Creates alignment across diverse stakeholder groups while navigating organizational complexity and change.

Operational Excellence

Establishes mechanisms to monitor program performance, operational health, and business outcomes.

Uses data, metrics, and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement and informed decision making.

Champions a culture of accountability, learning, and execution excellence across program teams.

Delivers predictable outcomes through effective planning, prioritization, and resource management.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of Program Management, Product Management, or related experience.

Experience with Finance, ERP, Financial Reporting, Business Intelligence, or Data Platforms.

Knowledge of SAP ECC, SAP S/4, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Services, or enterprise data warehousing solutions.

Experience managing complex cross-functional programs involving multiple stakeholders.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and Azure DevOps.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
