Description

Overview

Are you a customer obsessed, AI curious problem solver who thrives in an inclusive, collaborative global team? Join Engineering Operations (EngOps); the organization driving operational excellence across the Microsoft Cloud to strengthen quality, reliability, security, and customer trust. As part of EngOps, you’ll help design solutions that prevent issues before they happen, embed AI powered automation, and turn operational signals into action. Our culture of empowerment, inclusion, and growth mindset defines how we work.

We sit within the Azure engineering organization and consider customer support and incident management experiences foundational to the success of every Azure cloud. Our mission is to reduce customer impact during platform events, provide clarity during moments of uncertainty, and ensure customers and partners have the tools, guidance, and confidence they need to operate effectively. We build the platforms, processes, and governance models that shape how support and incident management are delivered across Azure.

As Azure continues to expand through partner operated and sovereign cloud models, we are extending our charter to ensure these environments benefit from the same rigor, clarity, and operational excellence as Microsoft operated clouds. This includes delivering the tools, processes, operational frameworks, and governance required to enable partners to support their customers successfully while maintaining alignment with Azure standards and expectations.

We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to define and drive how customer support and incident management are delivered across partner operated and sovereign Azure clouds. This role is central to simplifying complex operational models, driving parity of support experiences across clouds, and bringing clarity across a highly distributed ecosystem of internal teams, partners, and customers. This is a high impact role with visibility across Azure leadership and direct influence on customer trust and partner success.

Responsibilities

As a Principal Technical Program Manager in Engineering Operations, you will operate as a senior individual contributor, owning strategy, execution, and cross team alignment for customer support programs spanning Microsoft and partner operated Azure clouds.

Key responsibilities include:

• Define and drive the end to end vision and program strategy for customer support tooling across partner operated and sovereign Azure clouds, ensuring consistency with Azure standards while accounting

for sovereign and regulatory constraints.

• Drive parity of support experiences across Azure clouds by identifying gaps, prioritizing investments, and leading execution across tooling, processes, and operational models.

• Partner deeply with external cloud operators and internal Microsoft teams (engineering, support, security, compliance, commerce, and business operations) to ensure partners have the tools, knowledge,

and guidance required to deliver world class customer support to their customers.

• Establish and evolve governance models, operational frameworks, and escalation paths that enable predictable, auditable, and scalable support and incident management across sovereign environments.

• Translate complex customer, partner, and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable technical and operational programs, driving alignment and execution across multiple engineering and business

teams.

• Lead cross organizational execution by managing dependencies, resolving ambiguity, and driving delivery across distributed teams with competing priorities.

• Define success metrics and leverage data, KPIs, and operational signals to assess effectiveness, guide prioritization, and drive continuous improvement over time.

This role requires good judgment, systems thinking, and the ability to lead through influence while operating effectively in ambiguous and highly complex environments.
