We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Technical Program Manager with a solid background with a track record in driving software platform initiatives and strategy for an organization. You will be involved with all phases of product development from design through bring-up, development, and release. We are aspiring to get agile where you will play a key role in designing, developing, optimizing, and deploying innovative features. You will help us define and develop tactical and strategic solutions to meet the immediate and long-term needs of our services that form a critical part of Azure infrastructure. You will communicate Microsoft Azure requirements to our external partners, as well as coordinate collaborative efforts with various internal Azure Engineering teams. You have excellent communication skills to drive programs with multiple internal/external partners teams. You have the strong desire and ability to understand customer needs and a willingness to develop holistic and data-driven approaches to product solutions that delight and exceed their expectations. You have a very solid understanding of hardware, firmware, HW/SW quality, the ability to apply these fundamentals to ‘cloud-readiness’, and most importantly - an unyielding passion for creating products that customers will fall in love with.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record translating the needs of a highly diverse set of AI & machine learning use cases into a differentiated set of supercomputing-class systems, solutions, and experiences, and apply them to Azure’s underlying infrastructure systems. You will provide overarching project directions to the engineering teams.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Technical Program Manager with a track record in driving Software/Firmware initiatives and strategy for an organization. We are looking for a technical PM to come help us define and develop firmware requirements for our innovative hardware solutions that powers Azure. We need an experienced PM who can be the liaison to our external partners (Silicon Vendors, ODM, OEM, etc.), to drive Microsoft Azure requirement to our partners and can coordinate development efforts with different Azure Engineering teams. Besides driving firmware requirements and development, we need someone who can help create a long-term roadmap for Azure SCHIE firmware. In addition, he/she will be responsible for bringing in systematic SW/FW development practice to the team.

As a seasoned program manager, you must have a strong desire, passion, and ability to understand customer needs and a willingness to develop holistic approaches to product solutions that delight our customers and exceed their expectations. You should also have a good understanding of hardware, firmware, telemetry, algorithms, software quality, and an unyielding passion for creating products that customers fall in love with. You should have great communication skills to drive programs with multiple teams located in different locations.

Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
