Description

Overview

The Cloud & AI organization accelerates Microsoft’s mission and bold ambitions to ensure that our company and industry is securing digital technology platforms, devices, and clouds in our customers’ heterogeneous environments, as well as ensuring the security of our own internal estate. Our culture is centered on embracing a growth mindset, a theme of inspiring excellence, and encouraging teams and leaders to bring their best each day. In doing so, we create life-changing innovations that impact billions of lives around the world. Microsoft is one of the largest enterprise service companies in the world.

The Azure Security Monitoring team helps safeguard Azure’s services and infrastructure by delivering comprehensive security telemetry and enabling detection and response at scale. We partner across engineering, security research, and service teams to understand evolving threats, learn from incidents, prioritize gaps, and drive improvements through mitigation, improved telemetry, or high-fidelity detections.

As a Senior Program Manager, the individual will lead the post-incident detection workstream, ensuring that learnings from incidents and security exercises are converted into clear detection and telemetry actions with owners, tracking, and follow-through. In parallel, it drives detection lifecycle observability by defining what visibility is required (e.g., detection opportunities, authoring progress, data completeness/health, and key gaps) and working with partners to operationalize reporting so teams can make decisions based on shared, reliable metrics. This is a high‑impact role for someone who thrives in security, cross‑team leadership, and building clarity in complex technical spaces.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
