We are building the future of computing and are seeking a strong technical program manager to drive the definition and execution of our quantum driver and engine.

As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will work with our architecture and engineering teams to define and own the quantum control and driver software. This role sits at the critical intersection of quantum physics, hardware control electronics, and software engineering requiring strategic product vision, technical depth, and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

Strategy Decisions: drive alignment and clarity of architectural decisions ensuring a well-designed and enduring quantum drive and engine layer of our stack.

Roadmap & Execution: Plan, lead, and execute against aggressive timelines to develop software drivers, APIs, and low-level libraries that interface with control hardware.

Driver Software Life Cycle: Manage the full software development lifecycle from design and coding to verification, calibration routines, and integration.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the central interface across quantum teams to ensure alignment, clarity, and timely delivery across multiple stakeholders.

Risk Mitigation: Anticipate technical and schedule blockers related to latency, hardware instability, or software bugs and propose migration strategies.

Documentation & Standards: Ensure high-quality technical documentation, API specifications, and code standards are maintained.

Program Management Excellence: Manage large-scale, cross-functional initiatives spanning software engineering, research, and product strategy. Lead product reviews and demonstrations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.Other Requirments

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under U.S. export control regulations, potentially under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations.  As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency or other protected status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information.  To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport. Experience with AI-driven productivity toolsPreferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).Familiarity with quantum computing concepts, such as qubit control, gate fidelity, or quantum software frameworks.

Operating system / driver / engine design and development experience.

Experience managing large development programs and cross-functional teams across multiple geographical locations.

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
