The Revenue Management team within Microsoft Advertising helps power the monetization engine for Microsoft’s and third-party publishers’ online search, native, display and video platforms. We have a broad responsibility across business planning, forecasting, supply & demand analytics, and monetization efforts all of which are critical to ensuring the long-term health of our advertising platform. We work with groups across engineering and sales on driving growth initiatives and monetization improvements to our platform to help better enable our publishers and advertisers. The team is responsible for developing advanced techniques to turn data into insights; and to drive actions based on those insights end to end. The work environment empowers you to have a real impact on Microsoft’s business, our advertiser & publisher partners, and millions of end users.
As a Technical Program Manager, you will drive critical understanding how shifts in supply and demand create movement and opportunity in the Microsoft Advertising marketplace and influence monetization optimization and improvements. Leveraging your passion for problem solving, you will use data to drive decisions, product intelligence, and experimentation. This opportunity will allow you to work and influence resources across the organization as well as interact with engineering, marketing, sales, and other partners in global teams to ensure the right investments are made in our products and business strategies for the ongoing health and growth of Microsoft Advertising marketplace. Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. Responsibilities
You will generate actionable insights to improve the Microsoft Advertising business by identifying opportunities and gaps in the implementation of multiple feature areas (e.g., product, service) including comparison of various quality and performance metrics to various solutionsYou will provide planning inputs to assist with short-to-long-term revenue forecasts that incorporate the business strategy as well as economic and competitive influencesYou will understand and communicate key movements and changes within the ads platform and the impact on monetization and drive course correction measures with Sales partners as appropriate. Lead analytical approaches to understand how our customers are adopting and benefiting from the adoption of our vast range of ad features.You will identify areas of adoption best practice and partner with Product Marketing to drive awareness and provide analytical support for supply opportunities / new business/product categories as well as conduct exploratory analytics to investigate thematic areas of advertiser feedback, building business cases for necessary product investments where appropriate.You will lead project work streams with limited oversight. Assist with monetization initiatives end to end by working with engineering, legal, sales and marketing partners as appropriate as well as maintain a deep understanding of competitive offerings, gaps, and opportunities.You will provide thought leadership, advice, influence and insight to partners across other teams and develop and lead executive level presentations on supply and monetization.Embody and promote Microsoft’s culture and values.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years’ experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.1+ year(s) of experience in one or more scripting languages (e.g., SQL, R, Python, DAX, KQL, etc.) with 2+ years of experience working with database and data modeling solutions (e.g., Azure Data Explorer, Databricks, Cosmos, Oracle, Redshift, mySQL, Informix databases, etc.)Solid analytical background with 3+ years of experience working in an analytical role..Skilled in analyzing large datasets, with a hands-on approach focused on accuracy and quality.Ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives and identify key trends, root cause, outliers, and business drivers.Proven track record as a self-starter who works effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams; familiarity with Ads ecosystem.#MicrosoftAI
Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
