As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of highly motivated Technical Program Managers that will work with cross-functional teams to shape the future of the product. You will define deeply technical requirements and scope to maximize the performance and efficiency of our globally distributed platform. You will work with engineering to ensure we have the right system architecture, platform resiliency, telemetry and scalability to effectively deliver demands from the largest Azure customers. You will provide strategic help to cross-divisional teams as they work with Software and Hardware Engineering to design technical solutions. You will also oversee teams as they identify risks and propose data-based mitigations.You’ll drive cross-divisional teams to define success criteria and provide strategic knowledge to help them understand return on investment. You’ll also oversee team collaboration and ensure alignment on product management and release.You will oversee cross-divisional teams as they deliver on feature roadmap, track project schedules, develop staging and implementation, and hold teams accountable for leading governance programs.You will oversee teams driving continuous improvements by using industry expertise to teach them to validate use cases and helping them partner with other departments to collect performance metrics. You’ll also oversee teams that own customer support and ensure cross-divisional participation in direct customer engagements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development. OR equivalent experience.5+ years people management experience.6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.6+ years people management experience.

10+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

Technical Program Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.
