Description

Microsoft Human Resources (HR) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Program Manager with a focus on Responsible Artificial Intelligence (RAI). You will managing or contribute to the management of enterprise-scale compliance programs. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of technical solutions, engineering practices, as well as a deep understanding of the security and engineering life-cycle.

In this role, you will work across multiple teams including solution management, IT partners, third parties, and product teams to assess and address critical technical and compliance components for internal deployments and partnership with product teams.

As part of HR Business Excellence, a global function that provides overall governance, risk management, compliance monitoring, privacy and security assessments, continuity and response services, and accessibility for all of HR, the HR Responsible AI Program role will be responsible for supporting the implementation for an end to end governance program to drive adherence to Responsible AI principles and broader compliance requirements for the HR Organization, including (but not limited to) conducting compliance assessments, supporting inquiries, training and awareness, and supporting incidents.

Support the build out of the HR RAI Program, owning the implementation of specific RAI compliance functions (including processes, mechanisms and metrics) as they are stood up, including function definition, planning, use case development and testing, as well as communication and change management.Support the execution on agreed compliance success criteria (Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) & KRs) that demonstrate alignment with RAI requirements as defined by Microsoft’s Office of Responsible AI and AI regulations.Provide strategic guidance and assess feature(s)/feature areas (e.g. product, service) for generative AI and other scenarios for risk and compliance against company and regulatory requirements; determine mitigation and/or remediation plans to enable success for product and service components.Conduct RAI assessments (tracking each AI scenario through the life-cycle), including distinguishing sensitive use cases in the HR context in partnership with Corporate External and Legal Affairs (CELA) and Office of Responsible AI (ORA), and determine any mitigating actions needed from a technical and product perspective.Support the incident management program function.Respond to requests for inquiries, reports, and audits.Support RAI awareness and training, from general knowledge to technical guidance.Lead cross-functional teams and partner with HR stakeholders to ensure overall success of HR’s RAI Governance program.Other

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience. 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects and collaborating with multiple internal organizations.3 + years of managing or contributing to the management of enterprise-scale compliance programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience. 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos). 6+ years of experience managing or contributing to the management of cross-functional and/ or cross-team projects and collaborating with multiple internal organizations.5+ years in managing or contributing to the management of enterprise-scale compliance programs.Experience with technical solutions, engineering practices, and the security and engineering life-cycle.Deep analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Knowledge of Microsoft’s Responsible AI principles and ethical considerations, and familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to AIUnderstanding of other regulatory areas such as privacy (e.g. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and compliance frameworks. Demonstrated ability to stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes, and to adapt quickly to evolving business needs.Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
