Description
Are you energized by the prospect of working in a fast-paced environment developing and maintaining platforms that enable Microsoft’s largest global events? The Events Technology and Broadcast Operations Team (within the Microsoft Global Demand Center) is responsible for executing hundreds of media productions and broadcasts each year, ranging from internal communications to external flagship events that reach millions of attendees and viewers.We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager: Events and Broadcast Platforms who has a passion for building, maintaining, and evolving live and on-demand media platforms and tools. This role works alongside a team of broadcast and event specialists to build the technical foundations of digital, in-person, and hybrid events. The role is responsible for leading and contributing to the development of media streaming, media publishing, event platforms, data platforms, and business operations tools. A successful candidate is a collaborative and self-motivated technical leader who can manage project deliverables with dependencies spanning multiple teams. Given the sometimes “live” nature of this work, a successful candidate acts with a sense of urgency while maintaining calm under pressure. An appetite for continuous learning and growth is paramount.

Oversee the lifecycle for a portfolio of events platforms and business tools with special attention to stability, performance, security, scale, and general compliance.Manage a portfolio of development projects with a prominent focus on live and on-demand media platforms and tools.Gather business requirements and development of scope, schedule, and budget for multi-faceted technical solutions.Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational enhancement and incorporating them into the technical architectures and strategy.Maintain technical skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with new Azure service offerings, evolving development best practices, industry standards, and technologies.Hands-on application development as necessary.Embody our culture and values.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.4+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).Familiarity with events and media technologies (Content Management Systems (CMS), streaming platforms, video streaming, data platforms, etc.).Experience building and designing large-scale, reliable, and secure systems.
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
