Description

The Bing Places team is on a mission to empower people and organizations everywhere to explore, navigate, and connect in the physical world via Maps and Local data, services and experiences provided within the Microsoft Copilot, Edge, and Bing toolsets. We are searching for an experienced Principal Technical Program Manager to join our team. Preferred candidates will possess a solid services background with a proven track record of delivering scalable programs. Proficient collaboration skills with technical and non-technical teams, highly self-organized, ability to lead others, customer-obsessed, and a bias for action. You’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Partner with Software Engineering and Product Management to design complex technical solutions across feature areas. Give key stakeholders data-driven recommendations based on identified risks.Provide program management, technical, and organizational leadership.Lead strategic planning for a complex program portfolio including influence over resourcing decisions, planning cadence, and planning stakeholders.Build and deliver roadmaps for multiple feature groups across divisions, track project schedules, drive development of staging and implementation plans, and lead governance programs.Define success criteria and create relationships for implementing multiple feature areas for highly complex cross-functional projects. Coordinate and ensure alignment across the business.Drive continuous improvements by validating use cases. Also provide the expertise needed for teams to collect performance metrics, understand user engagement, build feedback loops, and recommend adaptations for optimizations.Be a change advocate responsible for initiating and leading multiple organizations through pivots needed to address shifts in business and user needs, trends, and priorities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with mobile app and web development or with software platform projects.Experience managing execution and high-quality product delivery.

Ability to solve software engineering challenges. Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
