Overview

Microsoft has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive end-to-end hardware strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities, operational constraints, and technical requirements across compute and storage categories. As a Principal TPM, you will drive end-to-end strategy and execution for cloud hardware delivery, ensuring alignment with business priorities, operational constraints and technical requirements in partnership with internal stakeholders across the entire product portfolio. You will be accountable for orchestrating cross-functional teams, optimizing processes, and accelerating time-to-market in support of regulated workloads. This role is the single point of accountability for roadmap clarity, dependency management, and escalation management, partnering with engineering, supply chain, planning, product, and operations teams. You will represent Microsoft in next-generation hardware planning, influence platform direction, and advocate for customer needs in executive forums. This position is critical to the growth, resiliency, and compliance of Microsoft’s government-regulated cloud offerings.

Responsibilities

Defining and driving prioritization and sequencing of hardware investments across general compute, specialty compute, storage, and GPUs (graphics processing units).Representing Microsoft in next-generation hardware planning with public cloud teams, influencing platform direction and establishing plans-of-record for critical requirements.Shaping long-term strategy for hardware enablement in regulated environments, anticipating market trends and customer needs.Orchestrating execution across engineering, supply chain, planning, and operations teams to ensure timely, reliable hardware delivery.Driving process optimization and standardization to improve delivery predictability and accelerate time to market.Leading escalation management, dependency resolution, and trade-off decisions across programs.Serving as the single accountable owner for roadmap clarity, dependency management, and cross-organizational communication. Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.Other Requirements:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States that does not now or in the future require employer sponsorship. Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

Existing US Government Clearance or ability and willingness to acquire and maintain a US Government Clearance3+ years leading delivery of cloud hardware solutions and driving requirements for Azure or comparable infrastructure platforms.3+ years managing cross-functional team projects involving hardware lifecycle, supply chain, or cloud infrastructure delivery.Previous experience leading teamsDirect GPU lifecycle planning experience

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
