Overview

The Windows Customer team is looking for an enthusiastic, self-driven, collaborative Technical Program Manager who will help us to deliver delightful experiences to millions of customers by facilitating and maintaining efficient communication flow between the Windows users and Windows engineers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, design, and user research to embed feedback into every stage of product development and delivery. Your responsibilities include analyzing feedback at scale, advocating for product changes based on signals from quantitative and qualitative data, and delivering actionable insights that influence product direction. You will identify issues, drive solutions, and ensure feedback translates into actionable outcomes. Success in this role requires balancing technical understanding with empathy, influencing stakeholders without direct authority, and maintaining accountability for results. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as you will work in complex, ambiguous environments and apply strategic influence to deliver measurable results.

You will need knowledge of Microsoft products/services and the ability to drive technical conversations and stay on top of in-depth changes implemented for multiple product feature areas across the Operating System to understand the nuance of feedback coming from our customers. You will be expected to identify emerging issues and patterns from customer feedback quickly, represent the voice of the customer from planning cycles to ship rooms, and clearly articulate customer needs and pain points to leadership.

Responsibilities

You will actively “listen" to Windows community through multiple channels (including Feedback Hub, in product surveys, social media, and selfhosting community) on a daily/weekly basis.You will analyze feedback at scale using advanced data analysis tools for trend detection, sentiment/topic mining, cohort slicing, and outlier identification while helping to improve our feedback tools.You will represent top issues from customers and new issues from the time of detection to the product team from planning through design, development, and release.You will stay on top of and understand in depth changes implemented for multiple product features across pre-release versions and retail versions of Windows.You will drive continuous improvements by root causing issues and partnering product teams to drive these issues to resolution. You’ll also contribute to release notes for improvements delivered to customers.You will identify emerging patterns/regressions early for specific features in Windows and drive bugs through to resolution with product teams.You will respond to customer feedback by sharing status updates, workarounds, educating users, and creating release notes when fixes are available.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with of one or more programming languages and data analytics techniques.Ability to empathize with customers with a curiosity to truly understand their needs. Should be able to interpret customer insights/data and translate it into actionable business results.Ability to gather and analyze data from multiple sources, identify implications, generate solutions, and evaluate alternatives using quality metrics.Be self-sufficient, organized, and pay attention to details to successfully manage multiple deadlines with effective follow-through on all initiatives.Solid critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills and the ability to relate them to the products or services the company is producing.Knowledge and deep understanding of Windows operating system.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with diverse audiences such as customers and leadership.A combination of creative abilities and business knowledge.

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
