Description
The Azure Compute and Efficiency Services team is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager with experience in developing advanced hardware platforms to support the latest virtual machine offerings. This role involves working with a wide range of technical experts to lead high-impact server hardware programs from initial concept through global deployment. You will collaborate with teams across product management, hardware and software engineering, supply chain, finance, and other functions to define requirements, resolve challenges, and deliver meaningful results.Our server hardware platforms form the backbone of Microsoft Azure, powering millions of workloads for both internal and external customers. Translate product requirements into hardware requirements like security, quality, performance, features, schedule and cost to develop best in class hardware platformsPartner with software and hardware teams to design complex technical solutions across feature areas and make data-driven recommendations based on identified risks.Define success criteria and create relationships for implementing multiple feature areas for highly complex cross-functional projects while ensuring alignment across the business.Build a working knowledge of the Azure infrastructure to analyze design option impacts
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience. 6+ years of demonstrated ability to communicate clear, organized program plans and status updates to diverse stakeholders in written and verbal formats as well as skills collaborating effectively in both written and live forums with large, complex stakeholder groups to achieve results3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects. 3+ years of experience in all phases of hardware development (server, enterprise, consumer or other)Other Qualifications:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years' experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, OR product development OR equivalent experience. 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects. 1+ years of experience with reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos) and working at a cloud-based company or in fields like telecom or networking1+ years of experience with modern cloud infrastructure concepts, design techniques and software development tools and techniques
Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
