Description

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Datacenter Engineering (DCE) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world’s largest online services.

This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.

Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates will need to relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.

This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to (50)%.

The Datacenter Engineering Technical Governance Electrical/EPMS Manager will manage the coordination of electrical/EPMS infrastructure requirements with internal stakeholders to support datacenter design development and documentation processes. They will ensure alignment of electrical and EPMS (Electric Power Monitoring System) infrastructure with Microsoft's global datacenter requirements, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors specializing in datacenter architecture to deliver solutions. This role also involves facilitating the development of Microsoft's datacenter design standards, managing design documentation, and overseeing multiple design projects and process improvements. Additionally, the manager will lead a team of individual contributors, overseeing workload management and career growth while driving process standardization across datacenter engineering initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmentOR equivalent experience.8+ years of experience designing electrical systems for Data Centers6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.5+ years people management experience.Registered professional /Licensed EngineerOther Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in electrical engineeringEffective communication, organization, and leadership skills. Possess a high level of understanding of commercial and industrial architecture and engineering with a primary focus on datacenter design.  Abiltiy to work with other technical and non-technical groups in a fast-paced environment and do so with an even temperament. A person of integrity, be methodical, and detailed-oriented 

Technical Program Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.
